We are actively seeking a dynamic, self-motivated individual to join our team as a Production Assistant. This entry-level position will support the Department head, and the activities of the Children's Books Production department. Additionally, the Production Assistant is also responsible for the production of simpler frontlist children's titles in hardcover and paperback formats.
Works with vendors to create and maintain title-specific schedules.
Coordinates all phases of production between internal departments and outside vendors.
Issues Purchase Orders for new books inclusive, but not limited to, printing, binding, components, separations, sales material and ebooks.
Develops and prices special effects used on components for maximum effective use in the most fiscally-responsible manner with supervision.
Color corrects proofs and attends press checks with supervision.
Maintains and owns the Digital Asset Archive log.
Prepares and updates budgets.
Quality Controls all product and samples.
Provides administrative support to supervisor.
Assists with special projects as needed.
Bachelor''s degree or equivalent work experience
Strong analytical, organizational and problem solving skills
Mac/PC experience; MS office; proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite is a plus
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Capacity to think and react gracefully in a high-energy, fast-paced environment
Ability to multi-task and simultaneously complete multiple projects

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
