Job Summary

The role of the Infection Control RN/Manager is to supervise the Infection Control department in identifying, preventing and controlling outbreaks of communicable diseases within the hospital; to help collect, analyze and interpret data related to infectious diseases and report when necessary to local, state and federal authorities, as well as to internal committees; to educate staff on infection control measures including but not limited to proper hand hygiene and standard and transmission-based precautions; to adhere to infection control policies, procedures, to follow state and federal guidelines with regard to surveillance and reporting.

Responsibilities and Duties

    Along with the job responsibilities of the Infection Control Nurse, the IC Manager will participate in leadership activities, ensure that policies and procedures are updated, and ensure that regulatory requirements are being met.

    • Consult and coordinate with healthcare team members to assess, plan, implement, or evaluate patient care plans.

    • Maintain accurate, detailed reports and records.

    • Modify patient treatment plans as indicated by patients' responses and conditions.

    • Prepare patients for and assist with examinations or treatments.

    • Monitor, record, and report symptoms or changes in patients' conditions.


  • Registered Nurse, Physician, Medical Technologist with 2-5 years hospital experience in nursing, microbiology, or other health-related field.
  • Management/Director EXP of 2-5 years in the area of Infection Control
  • Certification in Infection Prevention and Control is voluntary but suggested.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
