Job Summary

The Nurse Manager is designated as the leader for the specified patient care area, the patient population of that area, and assigned staff in order to achieve desired outcomes. This position assumes responsibility and accountability for operations of the nursing unit. Which includes: staff performance, clinical quality, financial performance and patient care during hours of operation.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Responsibilities.
    She is responsible 24 hours a day for the staffing and management of patient care in each of his/her units, for promoting the practice of professional nursing in a specified patient care area, and for the acquisition, development, and utilization of resources (human and material) needed to fulfill those responsibilities.

    • Assessing and prioritizing opportunities to improve, plan and implement effective changes
    • Evaluate outcomes of process improvement activities.
    • Effectively maintains the hospitals Standards of Care and Practice.


  • Graduate of a NLN/AACN accredited program in nursing.

  • Bachelor s degree in nursing required; Master s degree preferred.

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in relevant patient care setting, or as regulation dictate.

  • Current valid NJ Sate Professional Registered Nurse License.

  • CNOR Certification

  • Maintains American Heart Association Basic Life Support HCP Certification.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
